Testing the Mafia in Italy
I got to paddle the final pre production version of the Mafia this weekend. It was a race held in Val Sesia, italy, in the Piamonte region.

The boat itself was a little short to be measured in the competition, since although it is designed for exactly this sort of rock smashing whitewater creeking, most people were in boats a foor more more longer. However, I was pleased to still get 10th place against some of the worlds top paddlers.

The Mafia is a dream to paddle. Its just so easy. Turns on nothing, and accelerates so well, in two strokes I'm up to speed. A simple weight change and the bow rises high and the kayak runs dry. Lean forward and it hooks nicely into the eddy. So, here for your viewing pleasure, are some shots from this weekend.
