Benoit tries out his new boat
My Roommate, Benoit Dal Castello, has been working on a new design in hius spare time. I have a workshop with some extra room, so he's been in there nightly working hard on this boat, from its drawings all the way to making and vacume bagging the final boat himself.

The Boat is called the Mojo, and you can guess where the name came from given the graphics ;-)

This was the boats first time out on a big wave. Chambly is low this year, so the wave is not as well formed as usual, and the pit is very shallow, but its still fun.

So Benoit and I kayaked (I was in my Squashtail) and Christine and Privilla surfed. A good time was had by all.

Unfortunately Ben put the seat too far back, and as a result the boat felt impossibly slow compared to the Squashtail, but he is pretty sure this is a seat issue, so we hope to try it again later when the seat is better placed. But still, Ben looked like he was having a great time out there...
Christine got some shots of me out in my Squashtail. Mostly just some easy going soul surfing... the bottom was a little close to want to do any aerial stuff since in the Squashtail you shoot so far forwards that hitting the bottom would almost be assured, so I had a good time just zooming back and forth doing awesome top turns and power cutbacks.
This is NOT an airblunt. I just came across the face with so much speed and changed edges so fast that the whole boat whipped arround so fast I almost pulled a muscle. It made this perfect lip snap, and then carved out of the bootom. AWESOME!!
Pricilla roping onto the wave from the side.
She had some nice rides out there for sure.
Getting up on this rope is a lot harder than you think.... here Christine gives us a picture perfect demonstration of how to do it, but even really good wake boarders and surfers struggle with this at first (like... for at least an entire day!!!)
If you make it this far.... you're doing OK
And this is where everyone falls, reguardless of how experienced you are.... its a fine art. Christine has it dialed...
Total Commitment....
Doh!!!
Oh yeah baby... give it to me ;-)
Where have you seen Christine before?
