Dragon Paddler, Marci Merini is on a roll, and he sent me these photo's of a recent trip he just did up in the italian Alps - in the Piamonte.
The Oropa is a small pool-drop Piemont creek, runnable only after heavy rains. It's narrow, and very steep, with at least 10 very cool rapids, a 20footer drop after a complicated rapid, slides, one double drop and some small granit canyons. Lot of stuff to be scouted, but nothing really dangerous; all the rapids are clean with no syphons or undercuts. 6kms for 3 hrs of pure fun, Piemont style ! |
