Some of montreals local rippers were out yesterday on right sides, and it was a fun show. I've had the flu for a week, so i decided jsut to go down and take some pictures. By far the rider who's starting to stand out more and more is Julian, a ripping snowboarder and surfer. He'd just had his wisdom teeth pulled fFriday, so according to him, "was taking it easy". This is taking it easy? Stand by to see more of Julian!
The new 2Imagine wetsuits are in, and Christine was quick to pull one off the rack and take it out for a test. It got the "grily thumbs up" from her for warmth and comfort - or was that the look? She grabbed my 5'9" Squashtail to work on aggressive carving, and headed down to the river.
Christine has finally made that breakthrough in her riding where she is able to get the nose of the board climbing up the face of the wave, rather than jsut zig zagging back and forth on the wave, making those turns true bottom and top turns, with speed generated throughout the carve.
Igor showed up too, and had some great rides before putting a hole in his board. Doh!
Andreanne then showed up, also recovering from a flu, and went out for a few rides.
Julian than took out my Squashatil riverboard, and man, did he have a great ride. He moved so much faster across the wave than he was before, and had some great airs. What a fun surfer to watch!
Thats the highest olli I've ever seen someone get on this wave, period! He's 2ft out the water!
