| I have this brand new board designed specifically for Mavericks in the lachines. I wanted a board that would be very forgiving, and easy to surf, because that wave is really hard, but, would still "kill" it. Something ultra responsive and sensitive, without paying the steep price my Squaretail exacts for its performance.
At 5'8", 17 3/4" wide and 2 5/16" thick, its small, has HIGH entry rocker and low tail rocekr with a square narrow tail. The width is carried through the nose like a Hipsquash. This board ROCKS. My first ride on mavericks was one of the best I've ever had. It made it simply effortless. I had to think about nothing but what I was going to do with the wave, rather than playing the usual survival game. With this board, good things are going to come from this wave. |

| This board... that wave... Mirco's photo's...
I switched to 3 fins, and adjusted the toe-in , from the set-up I had at Habitat. At Habitat I was running 4 small fins, with less toe-in. Here I went to 3 larger fins (for the hold and drive), increased the distance between them, and toed them in just a little. With the 4WFS fins allowing me to really adjust the board depending on the wave I'm on, I was stoked to make fine adjustments all day until I had it dialed in to the wave. And once I got it dialed in....this is what happened! Look at that wall... oooohhhh! |
