This is the latest, and most likely, final prototype of the Mad Boy - our new River Running Creeker.

Unlike the Critical Mass and Mafia, the Mad boy is not an "all-out creeker", but a "river running creeker". We've given up a little of the turn-on-a-dime tendency that I personally like for all-out creekers, and given it more forward speed and better tracking. This will make it more predictable on creeks, but less versityle and "instantly responsive". That's the trade off. In the minds of many paddlers, a good trade off and a welcome one. For those that prefer the style of the super turny boats, we still have the Mafia and Critical Mass, but this boat now brings the other "style" to paddlers who'd like to have a Dragorossi, but prefer better tracking boats over better turning boats.

I call it a River Running Creeker rather than an all-out creeker because of my personal belief that a creeker should be as big and fat and turny as possible, and this boat falls more in line with the tendency of "River Runners such as the Diesel, Mamba, H2 and Remix.

This is just a neat little series of photo's that shows you the approximate size of the various boats. I didn;t put side views, and of course boats like the Habitat and Critical Mass have more volume than the rest of them (for thier length) but this just gives a neat little line-up to compare at a glance. I couldn't find a decent shot of the H2 which is 256cm, FYI.

We've got prototypes out in Italy, Spain, Germany and Canada right now, all being tested in the various river conditions that these unique places have to offer - so we can get a good idea of the boats handling in everything from bony dry bang-smash creeks to some good pushy water, in the hands of paddlers of various skill levels. After all, Pro's don't buy boats. Who cares if they like it, right?
