Mad Boy Races
The Mad Boy proto's have been put on the water since the beginning of the year, and these last few weekends has seen it enter a few extreme races'.

The event was the teva Games in Val Sesia. Daniel Herzig was 5th and Andrea Colombo 12th in the Mad Boy of 68 people... To understand the high level of competition, my good friend David Arnaud was 17th and Francesco Salvato 23rd.

Here are some of Daniels Comments:

I just came back from the Teva Race in beautiful Piemont, where I had the chance to test the Mad Boy proto. First, it's fast (2nd at the boatercross, and 5th all in all).
The seat position towards the bow reminds me a bit of a slalomkayak, which I actually like.

Well, the edges in the front part of the hull... I really found the developement from BG to Mafia and CM (round bow hulls) great, therefore I'm no big lover of edges there for a (at least semi) creekboat. Just for my taste I prefer a round (maybe slightly oval) hull in front of my knees, but keep it so that someone would get some surfing joy, if he jumps onto a wave on the run.

So far, it's the best.

And Marco Merini had this to say:

What I like of the Mad Boy is the fact that the boat is fast and turny at the same time. It's fast, because it's long and because of the low ends. It's easy to turn because of the flat hull that gives it also a good stability. Moreover, the low tail pushes you out of the holes incredibly well. The boat is as precise as you need!

And finally, Diego Zanga's comments:

This weekend I've been at the Valsesia River Contest and it has been a success:
Boater Cross on the Sesia we went 1st (Andrea Colombo) and 2nd place (Dario Vanacore) both with the MadBoy prototype...

Team Race on Sermenza we went 1st (Andrea Colombo, Marco Merini and Giorgio Codeluppi, Mad Boy, Mad Boy, Critical Mass)
Sermenza Rapid Race we went 2nd (Andrea Colombo Mad Boy), 5th (Marco Merini Mad Boy), 6th (Daniele Tira Mad Boy) and 7th (Giorgio Codeluppi Critical Mass)

Overall results of the 3 races:
1st Andrea Colombo (Mad Boy)
3rd Dario Vanacore (Mad Boy / Mafia)
4th Marco Merini (Mad Boy)

Not too bad... ;-)
