Over the years, my position as one of the worlds top kayaking athletes has afforded me the opportunity to do a lot of sports modeling. Some of the time, the shoots are at the specific request of a magazine. Other times, the photographer simply has an idea for an interesting shoot and has asked me to model for the shoot.

For the very reason that I love to take pictures, especially what I have referred to as "charme photography", so I enjoy posing for them. It is a chance to express myself from the other end of the camera; to work with the photographer, and develop a theme that captures the eye, and delivers the desired effect.

My modeling portfolio is too vast to display here, so I have chosen the images that have the fondest memories for me. Sitting in a frozen eddy trying to look composed, body painting for 8 hours to capture a single image, standing in the urinal of the Whiskey Cafe, doing spoofs with cigars (pre-Clinton), or boys-being-boys with fellow kayaker Eric Jackson. At each of these shoots, I had a great time, and have fond memories.

In each case, the photographer had a clear vision of what he or she wanted. In each case, I feel that was perfectly captured. This is their work.
