Twintip
One of the advantages of river waves over ocean waves, is that the wave is realitively consistant, from second to second and day to day. This means that you can literally "learn" the wave. Another advantage, is that the wave is never ending. This means, crouds permitting, you can take as long a ride as you like.. as long as your legs can hold out.

The shape of river waves is very much like the artificial wave locks (or "swatch waves" as they are also known). And the board shape of choice is a "twintip" for these waves.

The ability to ride backwards, is greatly elevated, and the need for a low profile tip is not as great as in the ocean because the wave never jacks up behind you. Thus, having a shape that can ride almost as well backwards as forwards is desirable to some riders. The template is totally symmetrical, but the rocker is still aysemeteric (we still drive forwards harder than backwards).

Small twin fins are located in the nose, low profile so the6y are out of the way while carving, but there for stability when riding backwards, and GL FCS fins are in the tail for a nice compromise between drive and looseness.
